The arc carries the light out over a seating area from a base standing off to the side. It answers the specific problem of wanting light above a sofa in a room with no ceiling fixture and no appetite for making one.
It stands 69.9" tall and reaches 47.5" out over the floor, on a base only 12.6" across. Dimming is on a remote and there is a foot switch on the cord, so the level changes without getting up.
The LED runs 21W and puts out 900-2500 lumens across a 2700-6500K range, so it covers a working evening at the coffee table and the low light after it. Rated to 30,000 hours, and the whole lamp weighs 11.5 lb.
- Size: 69.9" H x 47.5" D reach x 12.6" base
- Light: 21W LED, 900-2500 lumens, 2700-6500K
- Control: remote dimming, plus a foot switch
- Materials: metal and aluminium
- Weight: 11.5 lb; cord 8 ft (2.5 m)
- Rated life: 30,000 hours

Light over the seat
The arc reaches out from the base so the light sits above the seating rather than beside it. That is the position a ceiling fixture would take, in a room that does not have one.
Dimmed from the sofa
The remote covers the range, so one lamp reads for working at the coffee table and for watching something later. Having to get up to change a light is the reason most people leave it on one setting.
Out of your eyeline
Because the source hangs above rather than at seated height, you get the light without looking into it. It is the difference between a lit room and a lamp you have to sit around.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need a ceiling fitting or any wiring?
No. It stands on the floor and plugs in, which is the point of an arc lamp — you get light over the seating without touching the ceiling.
Can I dim it from across the room?
That is what the remote is for. It takes the brightness up and down through its range from wherever you are sitting, rather than from a switch on the lamp itself.
Can it be the only light in the room?
Over a seating group, generally yes — 900 to 2500 lumens from 69.9" up covers a sofa and a coffee table much as a pendant would. In a large open room it works better as the main light over one group, with something smaller elsewhere.
