The disc is plain white. The numerals are the thing that has gone wrong: each one pulled and smeared inward toward the centre, so the ring of numbers reads as something caught mid-swirl rather than a set of marks around an edge.
It still tells the time. The hours are where the hours belong, distorted but in position, so you read it at a glance the way you read any clock and only afterwards notice what has happened to it.
The face is 11.8" across in acrylic on a plastic body, light enough to hang from a single fixing, and the movement is silent — which matters for a piece meant to hang somewhere people sit rather than somewhere they pass through.

The numbers melt
Each numeral is stretched from its place on the ring inward toward the middle of the face. On a plain white disc there is nothing else competing for attention, so the distortion is the whole of what you see.
Still a clock
Distorted or not, twelve is at the top and three is on the right. You take the time off it as quickly as any other clock, which is what stops it being a sculpture that happens to have hands.
One thing on a wall
It works best with space around it and nothing else asking to be looked at. Above a sofa, in a studio, or on the one wall in a room that has stayed empty because nothing fitted.

Is the clock itself warped, or just the numbers?
Just the numbers. The disc is a flat white circle; the black numerals on it are dragged toward the centre. From across a room it reads as the whole face flowing inward, which is the effect.
Can you actually tell the time on it?
Yes. The hour positions are unchanged — only the shapes of the numerals are distorted — so reading it takes no more effort than a conventional dial once you have looked at it twice.
Is it really silent?
There is no tick audible from across a room, which is the point for something meant to hang where people sit. Hold it to your ear and you will hear the movement, as with any clock with hands.
