Baldacchino | Four Poster Canopy Bed Frame with Metal Crossbars No Box Spring Needed
$375.00
- Four posters give the room a centre and draw the eye up
- Metal crossbars close the posts into a frame overhead
- No box spring — the frame takes the mattress directly
Secure Checkout & Trusted Payments
A four poster gives a bedroom a defined centre and draws the eye upward, which is why the shape has outlasted every trend since it was invented. In queen the canopy stands 71.9" tall — nearly six feet of frame in a room where everything else sits low.
Metal crossbars tie the posts together at the top. That frame overhead is what a canopy bed is — the outline is the point, whether or not you ever hang anything from it.
No box spring is needed; the frame carries the mattress directly, and there is 14" of clearance underneath for storage. Queen measures 83.2" x 60.2", carries 800 lb, and suits a mattress 8-12" thick; the full size follows standard full dimensions.
- Queen: 83.2" L x 60.2" W x 71.9" H (also in full)
- Under-bed clearance: 14"
- Headboard rails: 20.9" and 10.7"
- Weight capacity: 800 lb
- Recommended mattress: 8-12" thick; no box spring needed
- Frame: metal, with crossbars at the top

Height in the room
Most bedroom furniture sits low, which leaves the upper half of a room doing nothing. A four poster is the one piece that uses it, and it changes the proportions of everything else.
Framed at the top
The metal crossbars close the four posts into a rectangle overhead. That outline is what makes a canopy bed read as one object rather than four uprights standing around a mattress.
No box spring
The frame carries the mattress directly, so there is nothing to buy separately and nothing adding height. Under a canopy, keeping the mattress low is what leaves the frame room to read.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a box spring or a foundation?
No. The frame supports the mattress on its own — put the mattress straight onto it and buy nothing else.
Does it come with canopy fabric?
It is the frame. What you hang from it, or whether you leave it bare, is up to you — the posts and crossbars stand as an outline on their own.
How much ceiling height does it need?
The canopy stands 71.9" in queen, so measure your ceiling and leave clearance above the crossbars — a four poster set tight under a ceiling loses the effect it is there for.
Do you offer free shipping?
