It is a platform bed, so the mattress sits directly on the frame and no box spring is needed. The frame is 39" by 75" and stands 12.8" high, which keeps the bed low while still leaving the drawers room to run, and it carries up to 1000 lb.
The footboard closes the frame visually and stops bedding from sliding off the end.

Storage underneath
