Hand carved rather than machine turned, so each bowl carries the marks of being made and the grain follows the form instead of running flat across it. No two come out quite the same — the shape itself varies, which is why we cannot promise a particular outline.
Wood is forgiving in a way glass and ceramic are not. It does not chip when a spoon knocks the rim, it does not sweat under fruit, and it does not go cold to the touch on a counter.
It runs roughly 6" to 7.5" across, so it holds a few days of fruit on an island or a bowl of sweets on a coffee table. Wipe it clean, and keep it out of the dishwasher.

Carved, not turned
A hand carved bowl keeps the character of the making — the wall and the outline vary a little. That is the difference from a machine-turned bowl identical to ten thousand others.
Kinder than ceramic
A spoon dropped into wood makes a dull sound and no chip, and fruit sitting in it does not leave a ring of condensation underneath. Those are the two things that usually end a fruit bowl.
Wipe, do not soak
Wood and standing water do not get on. A damp cloth and a dry-off is all it asks for; a dishwasher cycle raises the grain and eventually splits it.

Will mine look like the photo?
The material and the character will. The exact grain, tone and outline will not — it is hand carved from natural wood. Expect a family resemblance rather than a match.
Can I put wet food in it?
Fruit and dressed salad are fine as long as you empty it and wipe it out after. What wood will not take is sitting full of liquid, or a run through the dishwasher.
How do I stop the wood drying out?
Now and then, rub in a little food-safe oil meant for wooden kitchenware. That is the whole routine — it brings the colour back and slows the drying.
