It is an 8" square, fed from a concealed mixer whose trim plate is only 5.5" wide — so what shows on the tile is a thin square above and a small square below, and nothing else.
The mixer valve comes with the set, so there is no sourcing a compatible valve separately and no discovering a thread mismatch halfway through the job.
